Beat Goessel, Lose to Rural Vista

CANTON – The Canton/Galva boys finished off a busy week on Thursday and Friday with a road win at Goessel followed by a tough home loss to Rural Vista.
Combine these with a loss on Tuesday to Little River, 31-45, the Eagles now sit at 8-10 for the season with a road trip to Wichita Central Christian Academy on Tuesday laying ahead of them next week.
Against Goessel on Thursday, the Eagles brought home a seven-point, 45-38 win.
Canton/Galva led by one, 10-9, at the end of the first quarter before opening a four-point, 19-15, advantage going into the halftime break. The lead expanded to seven by the end of the third quarter before they cruised in for the final victory.
The Collins brothers, Wyatt and Noah shared a game high of 16 points.
At home on Friday, Canton/Galva only trailed by a pair, 7-9, at the end of the first quarter but fell behind by 14 at 15-29 going into the halftime break. After cutting the deficit to nine at 29-38 at the end of the third, the Eagles could not keep up and took the final 13-point, 42-55 loss.
Wyatt Collins led the Eagles in scoring with 13.
