Win 66-16 – McMannis Runs For 288 Yards, 4 Scores

CANTON – Lane McMannis ran for 288 yards as the Canton/Galva football team put over 400 yards rushing in the books while hosting Hutchinson Central Christian and scoring a 66-16 win.


The win puts the Eagles at 5-1 for the season and on a five-game win streak. Canton/Galva will be on the road next Friday at Beloit’s St. John/Tipton Catholic who is just 2-4 for the season after winning 20-14 over Lakeside on Friday.


McMannis ran the ball 14 times for the Eagles and caught another four passes for 47 yards, totaling six touchdowns in the process as he has now totaled 951 yards rushing on the season. McMannis also led the Eagle defense with 12 tackles while Wyatt Collins recorded seven.


Jaden Ediger completed eight-of-fourteen passes for 148 yards as he threw for three scores, two to McMannis and one to Leyton Witte.


As a team, Canton/Galva rang up 553 yards in offense on just 43 offensive plays while Central Christian ran 54 plays for 301, 240 of which came throwing the ball.
