MARION – After hitting a two-game losing skid, the Canton/Galva girls found their way back into the win column on Monday with a road trip and two-point, 43-41, win at Marion.
Marion held an early four-point, 7-11 lead at the end of the first quarter before the Lady Eagles outscored the host team 15-7 in the second to take a four-point, 22-18 lead for themselves into the halftime break.
Canton/Galva pushed the advantage out to seven points at 36-29 by the end of the third quarter before Marion gave a valiant attempt comeback before the Lady Eagles held them off for the final two-point win.
Trinity Espinoza led the Lady Eagles in scoring as she scored more than half the team points with 22. Overall, the Lady Eagles connected on eight three-pointers.
Now 3-2 for the season, the Lady Eagles were scheduled to be at Lyons on Tuesday, then come home to host Centre on Friday before closing out the pre-Christmas section of the schedule on Tuesday, December 19 at Wakefield.
