HAWKINSON, ALCALA TOP STAT SHEETS

GOESSEL – The Canton/Galva volleyball team went into Goessel on Saturday and came home with a pair of wins, three losses and a fourth-place finish at the Goessel Invitational.

Kicking off the invitational with a decisive straight set win over St. Paul (25-16, 25-15), the Lady Eagles then powered their way to a second straight set win (25-15, 25-10) this time over Burrton.

In the third match of the day, Canton/Galva lost to Sedgwick, 12-25 and 12-25, followed by another straight set loss to host Goessel, 13-25, 19-25.

Going against county rival Moundridge, the Lady Eagles lost their third straight set match 17-25, 23-25 to finish fourth overall at the Invitational.

Among the stat leaders were Raegan Hawkinson who topped the team in Digs with 33 and kills with 37 while also getting six assists and scoring four service aces.

Trinity Espinoza led the Lady Eagles in service aces with eight plus made 22 kills and pounded out 30 digs.

Adi Alcala directed the offense the entire day and dished out 58 assists while also recording 10 kills and 23 digs.
