Erskin Wins 2 Gold, McMannis, Hoppes Get 1

FAIRFIELD > Both the Canton/Galva boys and girls track/field teams placed fifth in the team standings on Tuesday at the Fairfield six-team meet.

The Eagle boys scored 48 points which was good for fifth place as host Fairfield/Langdon won the meet with 116.

John Erskin had a big day as he won both the 100- and 200- meters and Lane McMannis scored a win in the 400 meters while finishing second in the javelin to lead the Eagles.

In the girl’s competition, the Lady Eagle s finished with 34 team points which placed them fifth as well.

Makinlee Hoppes led the Lady Eagles by winning the 300-meter hurdles while Honesty Williams placed second in the 3,200 meters and third in the 100-meter hurdles.
