MCPHERSON – It did not go well for the McPherson College men’s soccer team in the season home opener on Wednesday as they lost 1-7 to Briar Cliff University at McPherson Stadium.
Briar Cliff jumped all over the Bulldogs early, getting four scores in the first 14 minutes of play that included two goals within just 65 seconds of the other.
McPherson finally found the back of the net less than two minutes into the second half when Benedict Mbogga got his first score as a Bulldog. The Chargers then put three more scores on the board to seal the victory.
Individually, the Bulldogs were led by Anthony Pereira who took five shots in the game, two of which were on goal while Mbogga made the only shot he took in the game.
