AREA ATHLETES RANK IN T0P-10 OF 45 TRACK/FIELD EVENTS

Vikings Peters Ranks 2nd  in Top-10 of 5 Events

Heading into Thursday’s regional track/field meets, the six McPherson County area smaller schools find themselves  with 54  athletes ranked  in the top-10 of 45 different events spread out over Classes 3A, 2A, and 1A, all according to the high school sports website of catchitkansas.com.

Between the track/field teams of Moundridge and Inman, 21 events will have at least one athlete ranked in the top-10 of Class 2A.

Individually, Smoky Valley’s Breanne Peters is ranked second best in five events for Class 3A girls while Cammi Unruh, Chloe Schmidt and Heath Churchill are all ranked in the top-ten of three events for Class 2A events.

The Inman Lady Teutons have the most athletes ranked in the top 10 with 11, while the Lady Wildcats of Moundridge have nine and both the Lady Vikings of Smoky Valley and the Lady Redskins of Little River  have eight.

Five athletes ranked in the top ten gives the Moundridge Wildcat boys the top of the area teams while the Little River boys currently have four ranked in the top ten.

Here is the listing of those McPherson area small school athletes ranked in the top-ten of an event for Class 3A, 2A, or 1A heading into the State Regionals on Thursday.
