4 Run Season Best Times

By Staff
STERLING – In a run that was fast and competitive, the Inman cross country team raced well at Sterling on Thursday as all five runners medaled with four running season best times.
In the varsity boys race, the top 25 runners ran under 18 minutes including both of the Teuton runners as Tyler Martisko earned a medal for finishing tenth with a run of 17:06.40. Riley Roots also gained a medal with his twenty-fourth-place finish.
For the Lady Teutons, only Addison Wedel ran in the varsity division, but she came home with a medal with a twenty-fourth-place finish.
Both Abigail Siemens and Lacie Baxter ran in the junior varsity girls division and earned medals with a pair of top ten placings as Siemens finished fifth and Baxter ended up tenth.
Martisko, Roots, Wedel and Baxter also all ran season best times.
“As in the past the Sterling Invitational was fast and competitive where if the runners didn’t take on the challenge, then they would be left behind,” explained Teuton head coach Jay Parsons during his post meet reflections. “All our runners made tremendous improvement since the first of the season and especially during the past few weeks. The goal now is to carry these efforts or times into the league and state regional meets.”
On Thursday, October 12, the Teuton harriers will compete in the Heart of America League Meet at Westar Prairie Ridge Park in Hutchinson and hosted by Hutchinson Trinity.
