2ND HALF WINS OVER CENTRE FOR LITTLE RIVER BOYS

LITTLE RIVER – After a sluggish first half the Little River boys put 46 points on the board in the final two quarters to pull away from Centre at home and gain a 62-35 win on Friday.

 

Leading by just two, 7-5, at the end of the first quarter, the Redskins pulled out to a seven-point, 16-9 advantage at the halftime break before pouring 27 points on the scoreboard in the third quarter and another 19 in the fourth to earn the final 27-point victory.

 

Despite committing 18 turnovers and being whistled for 20 fouls, Little River pulled away for the win thanks to pulling down 36 rebounds of which 24 were on the offensive end, giving the Redskins second-chance opportunities to score.

 

Ty Janette led Little River in scoring with 13 while both Jaren Garrison and Jaxon Konen scored 10 and Blayne Baldetti chipped in with nine. Garrison led the Redskins in rebounding by pulling down eight with both Janette and Logan Renken grabbing seven and Konen getting six.

 

Now one game over .500 at 7-6, Little River has a weather make-up game on Saturday hosting Goessel before playing Canton/Galva on Tuesday and Elyria Christian on Friday.
