REDSKINS SPLIT WITH CANTON/GALVA

Earns 1st win of Season

LITTLE RIVER – On Friday, the Little River baseball team finally found the win column as they split a home doubleheader with Canton/Galva, losing game one 1-11 before winning game two 8-3.

In game one, the Redskins were held to just one hit by Spencer Strecker while Logan Renken, Carter Stansbury and Kelby Rice all pitched, throwing 170 pitches, and giving up just five hits while walking nine and striking out 13, nine by Renken.

Little River scored six runs in the first two innings as they gained their first win of the season in game two, winning 8-3. Logan Renken had four runs batted in thanks to pounding out a home run, he also scored twice.

C. J. Herzog worked the mound, needing 105 pitches to limit Canton/Galva to just four hits and five walks while striking out nine.

Now 1-5 for the season, the Redskins are scheduled for a doubleheader on Tuesday at Ell-Saline before closing out the week on Friday hosting Hutchinson Trinity.
